Engineering Performance

Creating Cohesive Teams

Businesses have always placed a high degree of importance on having high performance teams, spending money on team building exercises and motivational speakers.  Whilst performance may lift in the short term, it is rarely sustained.

What's missing is an understanding of how to create a cohesive team, one that collaborates and communicates well, providing the foundation upon which longer term, sustainable performance is grown, rather than relying on a motivational sugar-hit.

Creating Cohesive Teams is based on Patrick Lencioni's best-selling parable, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, to understand the elements that prevent teams from functioning effectively, then using this knowledge to develop strategies that build trust, cohesion and performance.

This program works well with intact teams and leaders who want to understand how to lift team performance and develop practical strategies that can be applied directly in their business.

In baselining cohesion and determining areas of improvement, this program often acts as a guide for further, more targeted team and individual development opportunities, including Coaching for Performance and Mastering Productive Conflict.
In this program you will:
  • Measure your team's baseline cohesion using the Table Group's Online Team Assessment that summarises The Five Dysfunctions of a Team model and assesses the team’s performance in each behaviour.
  • Unpack the team's report to share and understand more about the team behaviours.
  • Take a structured approach to workshop strategies and develop practical actions that when applied in the workplace will help drive transformation and improve cohesion.
  • Remeasure team cohesion six months later to monitor progress and assess outcomes.

Coaching for Performance

Coaching is often mistakenly perceived as a performance management solution for under-performers, or as the exclusive domain of the executive looking for an edge, where it's lonely at the top and feedback is hard to come by.

Many organisations struggle with accountability. Coaching is a key communication process for raising self-awareness in individuals (or teams) and creating an environment and mindset of accountability through a pull, rather than push, style of leadership.

Coaching for Performance provides a highly experiential program, combining the process of coaching with curiosity to teach your leaders how to provide high quality coaching. Our proven process helps participants build up their confidence by focusing gradually removing the process-related guardrails throughout the program, to achieve exceptional results.

Engineering Leaders can also provide individual coaching packages to work one-on-one with your team members to achieve their goals, reach their potential and maximise performance.

Mastering Productive Conflict
The word conflict can generate discomfort, largely based on the beliefs we have formed through elements such as culture, past experiences, and family.

As a key element of a high performance culture, we need to become more comfortable with seeing conflict as the exploration of our differences.

Based on the
Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode Inventory, this program explores the 5 key conflict modes and increases your confidence on how and when to use them.
